About Me

Hello, my name is Jared Clayton. I am a Counsellor who works from a relational perspective. This means that my counselling practice is based around an understanding of the interconnected and multilayered nature of our human experience. I am interested in how the events and influences that we experience throughout our lives, may relate to our decisions on how we view the world around us and our own place within it.

I studied at Leeds Beckett University and qualified with an MA in Integrative Counsellor. I am trained to draw upon my knowledge of different forms and modalities of counselling to provide a therapeutic space which is carefully tailored to support you, as we work towards your goals together.

As a passionate believer in positive mental health for all. I was fortunate during my training to work at Phoenix Health and Wellbeing, an organisation that provides therapeutic support for those on lower incomes.

During this placement, I developed a strong record of successfully working with all forms of diversity and a wide range of issues, priding myself on modelling inclusivity, equity and social justice. After qualifying, I was invited to remain at Phoenix, where I continue to run a clinic today, one afternoon a week.

Before becoming a Therapist, I spent over twenty-five years working in the media industry. During this time, I learned that even the most challenging goals can often be reached by people working collaboratively together.
